END OF TOUR
This is one of the most rewarding
regions for a combination of trekking
and driving through high mountains.
Towards the north is China and to
the west one can have a glimpse of
the Bhutan Himalayas.
The Sela Pass is at 14000 ft. On a
clear day one can see at a distance
the Tawang Monastery, perched on a
hill top, after coming down only a
little way from the pass. It is a
very interesting sight as the Monastery
grows a little larger with each passing
curve on the road that affords a look
to the west through a misty and vast
valley. As we come down further and
before taking the final turn towards
the road head, you are awe struck
with the beauty of the Nuranang Falls,
a great sheet of water cascading down
a cliff throwing sprays of water at
your body if you are close enough.
