III. ROYAL RAJASTHAN

(DELHI - AGRA - JAIPUR - SAMODE - MANDAWA - BIKANER - JAISALMER - JODHPUR - UDAIPUR - DELHI) 11 NIGHTS / 12 DAYS


Day 01: DELHI

Welcome on arrival at Delhi and transfer to hotel.


Day 02: AGRA

Morning transfer to railway station to board train to Agra. On arrival at Agra transfer to hotel. Afternoon see Agra Fort and Taj Mahal. Evening free to relax. Overnight at hotel.


Day 03: JAIPUR

Early morning see Taj Mahal in a different light as Taj changes its colour with the rise of sun. After breakfast leave Agra for Jaipur (221 kms / 5 hrs) enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri - the deserted capital built by Akbar. The capital was later shifted to Agra for want of water. Arrive Jaipur late afternoon. Afternoon visit City Palace, Palace of Winds and Observatory. Overnight at hotel.


Day 04: JAIPUR

Morning excursion to Amber Fort where one can still go on elephant back like a Maharaja. Afternoon visit the Pink City bazaars and then drive to Samode (38 km / 1 hr.). Royal welcome on arrival. Evening at leisure and enjoy the local performance in the Palace Court Yard. Overnight at Samode Palace.


Day 05: MANDAWA

Early morning enjoy camel safari (ride) through the village and over the sand dunes upto the royal orchards. Depart Samode for Mandawa (175 kms / 4 hrs) reaching there by lunch time. Afternoon visit painted Havelies of Shekhavati. Overnight at hotel.


Day 06: BIKANER

Morning drive to Bikaner (156 kms / 4 hrs) reaching there by lunch time. On arrival transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit Junagarh Fort where beyond the massive walls rise picturesque pavilions, delicately ornamented balconies and windows in hundred different designs, murals and frescoes, mirror shaded walls, blue and white Chinese tiles and first carvings. Also visit Ganga Golden Jubliee museum which has a good collection of terracotta potteries dating back to 5000 years. Overnight at hotel.


Day 07: JAISALMER

Morning drive to Jaisalmer (333 kms / 8 hrs & 30 mins) arriving there by lunch time Jaisalmer is in the heart of Thar Desert. Visit Fort and its narrow streets leading to the Jain Temple and Havelis with most exquisite stone carvings in golden honey yellow stone. Overnight at hotel.


Day 08: OVERNIGHT ONBOARD TRAIN

Day return tour of sand dunes on camels and view magnificent sunset over the Thar Desert. Evening transfer to railway station to board overnight train to Jodhpur. Overnight at train.


Day 09: JODHPUR

Arrive Jodhpur (298 kms / 8 hrs) early morning and transfer to Palace Hotel. Afternoon tour of Mehrangarh Fort and grand Umaid Bhawan Palace. Overnight at hotel.


Day 10: UDAIPUR

After breakfast visit Jaswant Thada and Mandore Gardens. Visit local bazaars. Afternoon relax. Evening transfer to airport for flight to Udaipur and on arrival transfer to hotel for overnight stay.


Day 11: UDAIPUR

Full day sightseeing of Udaipur including City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Sahalion Ki Bari. Evening at sunset boat ride on lake Pichola. Overnight at hotel.


Day 12: TRANSFER TO DELHI

Day at leisure. See bazaars and lunch at Lake Palace Hotel. Evening transfer to airport for flight to Delhi. On arrival, transfer to international airport for flight to onward destination.
