# FABLED LAND: 6 NIGHTS/7 DAYS

DIBRUGARH - MON - LONGWA - MON - JORHAT - MOKOKCHUNG - TOUPHEMA - KOHIMA - DIMAPUR

Meet and assist by JTI staff at the airport / station. Transfer from Dibrugarh to Mon. Our drive to Mon in Nagaland will be through lush green valley of the tea estates of Assam. The journey will take about 5 hours. This district is inhabited by the Konyak tribe with a sizable number of Ao Nagas. Check into Circuit House on arrival. Dinner and overnight.

Day 02: MON - DAY TRIP TO SHANGNYU
(Drive from Mon to Shangnyu - 20 kms/2 hours - one way)

After early breakfast we will be going to Shangnyu village. True tradition is seen here where people are still not touched by modern ways. Lunch at the village. Meet village folk, see their way of life. Return to Mon in the evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 03: MON - JORHAT
(Drive from Mon to Jorhat - 165 kms/ 5 hours)

We will drive down to Jorhat today and check into a beautifully appointed 70 years old Tea bungalow. Lunch upon arrival. Evening visit Thengal village and meet simple Assamese village folk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04: JORHAT - MOKOKCHUNG
(Drive from Jorhat to Mokokchung - 100 kms/3 hours - one way)

After breakfast we will be going to Mokokchung in the north-central Nagaland. This district is inhabited by the Ao Tribe. The journey will take about 4 hours. On reaching Mokokchung we will check into Circuit House. Dinner and overnight.

Day 05: MOKOKCHUNG - TOUPHEMA
(Drive from Mokokchung to Touphema - 120 kms/5 hours)

Ungma and Longkhum village is our destination today. After breakfast set off for the villages. Met by the village head, we will be escorted by him throughout the village. Enjoy Ao dance while you are having your lunch at Longkhum. From here we will drive to Touphema village 5 hours away. On arrival check into neatly appointed huts built in the Angami Naga style, Angami is, incidentally, the main tribe of this area. Evening traditional dance and dinner around campfire. Overnight.

Day 06: TOUPHEMA - KOHIMA
(Drive from Touphema to Kohima - 40 kms/1.30 hours)

After breakfast today we drive to Khonoma village via Kohima, a place renowned for its valour and courage. The Khonoma gate tells the story of British infiltration into Naga hills. We return to the hotel for lunch. Late afternoon, visit the famous war cemetery, a symbolic memorial raised as citation for the supreme sacrifice made by the officers and men of the Allied forces during World War II. Come back to Kohima and to Hotel Japhu. Dinner and overnight.

Day 07: KOHIMA - DIMAPUR AIRPORT
(Drive from Kohima to Dimapur - 70 kms/2 hours)

After breakfast transfer to Dimapur airport to catch out going flight to Calcutta/Delhi. Arrive Delhi in the evening.
