Arunachal Pradesh – 9 days
Tour AP-01: Guwahati – Tezpur - Ziro – Daporijo – Along – Pasighat – Dibrugarh
A journey along the tribal hinterland of Arunachal Pradesh in the easternmost tip of the Great Himalayan Range. This is one of the most best programs that one can undertake to visit remote tribal areas in India. Journey through tropical rain forests, quaint tribal villages, stop over and walk gingerly over a hanging bridge spanning a fast flowing river. Visiting the Apatanis in Ziro and the Adis of Along and Pasighat and various tribes in between, living in their traditional ways as they've done for centuries, you can rarely have another tour itinerary as culturally rich as this one.

Day 01: Guwahati
Arrive Guwahati by air. Meet and assist by JTI staff at the airport. Transfer to a hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight.

Day 02: Guwahati - Tezpur (180 kms/ 4 hrs)
Today drive to Sualkuchi (35 kms /1 hour) the silk village of Assam which is situated on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra. Then drive 15 kms to Hajo, a place where three religions meet - Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism. And then transfer to Tezpur. On arrival check into a hotel. Overnight.

Day 03: Tezpur – Ziro (300 kms/ 8 hrs)
Today we will set off for Ziro. Before reaching Ziro we will stop at a village inhabited by Nyishi tribes. Check into a hotel on arrival. Evening visit local market. Overnight.

Day 04: Ziro
Today we will be visiting the villages of the Apatani people in Ziro. Ziro is one of the most traditional areas in Arunachal Pradesh. Overnight.

Day 05: Ziro – Daporijo (160 kms/5 hours)

Today proceed to Daporijo. Enroute we will visit Hill Miri and Tagin villages, the main tribes of this area. On arrival check into a Village Guest House. Overnight.

Day 6: Daporijo – Along (162 kms/5 hours)
Drive to Along. The main tribe of this area is Adi Gallong. We will visit their villages on the way. On reaching Along we will visit museum (Sunday Closed).check into a hotel. Overnight.

Day 7: Along – Pashigat (120 kms/ 4 hrs)
We will be going to Pasighat today. Visit more villages on the way. On arrival, check into a hotel. Evening sightseeing of Pasighat town. Overnight.

Day 8: Pashigat – Dibrugarh (35 kms/ 1 hrs plus 5 hrs in ferry)
Today we start our journey to Dibrugarh. Along the way we will cross the mighty Brahmaputra River by ferry. Check into a hotel. Overnight.

Day 9: Dibrugarh Fly-out
After breakfast transfer to Dibrugarh airport for flight to onward journey.

Tawang (Arunachal Pradesh) – 7 days
Tour AP-03: Guwahati – Dirang – Tawang – Bomdila – Guwahati
High mountains, monasteries, waterfalls and lakes make this tour adventurous and at the same time enlightening. You will be driving through one of the highest Himalayan mountain passes in the world, the Sela Pass at 14000 ft/4200m. Tawang with its 400 years old Buddhist Monastery is a beacon for many Buddhist pilgrims and also for the discerning tourist. This mountain settlement in western Arunachal Pradesh is the highlight of this itinerary.

The second day of your tour takes you through very interesting places like Dirang and Bomdila, a dramatic turn after minutes of crossing the state border with Assam. The topography changes almost suddenly and you are climbing the foothills of the Himalayas. From almost sea level to
8000 ft is covered in 100 km, the last 20 km is the steepest on your way to Bomdila. Along the way you come across water cascades, some worth stopping over to take photographs. Dirang is a picturesque little village with the Dirang River flowing by at a short distance. On your way to Tawang you can enjoy the beauty of the Nuranang falls and stop at curves to have a long distance view of the Tawang Monastery.

Most of the inhabitants of the Bomdilla and Tawan area are of Mongoloid stock, but their geographical isolation from each other has brought amongst them certain distinctive characteristics in language, dress and customs.

DAY 01: GUWAHATI – ECO CAMP (220 kms/ 5 hours)
Arrive Guwahati by air. Meet and assist by JTI staff at the airport. Transfer to eco camp, near the Assam Arunachal Pradesh border. Overnight.

DAY 02: ECO CAMP – DIRANG (180 kms/7 hours)
Transfer to Dirang and check into a hotel. Evening visit Dirang town and local market. Overnight.

DAY 03: DIRANG – TAWANG (145 kms, 5 hours)
Today, we drive to Tawang at 10200 ft. On the way we will be crossing the Sela Pass at 14000 ft, the highest motorable pass in the Northeast. Check into a hotel. Evening walk around Tawang town. Overnight.

DAY 04: TAWANG
Today we will visit the famous 400 years old Tawang Monastery. Intermingled with the lamas (monks). Afternoon visit a Monpa village. Evening visit market. Overnight.

DAY 05: TAWANG – BOMDILA (180 kms/7 hours)

Morning, transfer to Bomdila today at an altitude of 8000 ft. Check into a hotel on arrival. Afternoon sight seeing of Bomdila town includes visit to Gompas (monastery) and market. Return to hotel. Overnight.

DAY 06: BOMDILA – GUWAHATI (350 kms/10 hours)
Today we will drive to Guwahati. On arrival, check into a hotel. Overnight.

DAY 07: GUWAHATI
Morning, transfer to Guwahati Airport for onward journey.

Nagaland – 9 days
Tour NL-01: Dibrugarh – Mon – Mokokchung – Touphema – Kohima

Day 02: Dibrugarh – Mon (180 kms/6 hours)
Transfer from Dibrugarh to Mon. This drive will be through lush green valley of the tea estates of Assam. Mon district is inhabited by the Konyak Tribes. Check into a hotel on arrival. Overnight.

Day 03: Mon – Longwa - Mon
Today, we will drive to Longwa village on the border ridge between India and Myanmar (Burma). The Angh (king) of Longwa commands about 50 villages from both the side. Afternoon visit the Mon Village. Return to Mon in the evening. Overnight.

Day 04: Mon – Langmeang – Chui – Mon
Today, you will be visiting Langmeang and Chui village of Konyak Nagas. Return to Mon by late afternoon. Overnight.

Day 05: Mon – Mokokchung (220 kms/7 hours)

Today we will be going to Mokokchung in the north-central Nagaland. This district is inhabited by the AO Tribe. On reaching Mokokchung we will check into a hotel. Overnight.

Day 06: Mokokchung – Touphema (120 kms/5 hours)
Ungma and Longkhum is our destination today. Morning we will set off for the villages. From here we will drive to Touphema village. Enroute visit villages of the Rengma tribes. On arrival check into neatly appointed huts built in the traditional Angami Naga style, the Angami tribes are, incidentally, the main tribe of this area. Overnight.

Day 07: Touphema – Kohima (40 kms/1.30 hours)
Morning go for a walk in the old village of Touphema. Then we will drive to Kohima. Enroute visit the state museum (closed on Mondays and govt. holidays) and the local market. On arrival check into a hotel. Overnight.

Day 08: Kohima – Khonoma
Today we drive to Khonoma village, a place renowned for its valour and courage. The Khonoma gate tells the story of British infiltration into Naga Hills. Afternoon visit the famous war cemetery, a symbolic memorial that has been raised as a citation for the supreme sacrifice made by the officers and men of the Allied forces during World War II. Overnight.

Day 09: Kohima – Dimapur Airport (74 kms/2 hours)
Morning, transfer to Dimapur airport to catch out going flight to Calcutta/Delhi.

Arunachal Pradesh & Nagaland – 15 days
Tour AP-NL01: Ziro – Daporijo - Pasighat – Dibrugarh - Mon – Mokokchung - Kohima
