SUGGESTED ITINERARIES:

# KAZIRANGA SPECIAL: 3 NIGHTS / 4 DAYS

GUWAHATI - KAZIRANGA - GUWAHATI

Day 01: ARRIVE GUWAHATI

Meet and assist by JTI staff at the airport. Transfer to Hotel Dynasty or similar. Lunch upon arrival. Evening visit 'Kalakshetra', a place where Assamese history and culture is depicted in a sprawling enclosure. Return to hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 02: GUWAHATI - KAZIRANGA

(Drive from Guwahati to Kaziranga - 230 kms/5hrs)

After breakfast we will be driving down to the Kaziranga National Park, home to the famed one horned rhino. On arrival check into Wild Grass Resort. Afternoon we have arranged a jeep safari through the western side of the National Park. Come back to the resort. Dinner around campfire. Overnight.

Day 03: KAZIRANGA

Early morning we will see the National Park (Central range) on elephant back. Apart from the Rhino, other species found are hog deer, swamp deer, wild buffalo, elephants and if you are lucky, the tiger. It is virtually a paradise for bird watchers, with a variety of migratory and resident birds. It is also home to pelicans, storks and darters as there are a number of water bodies inside the Park. We will return to the resort for breakfast. Afternoon, go inside the park once again on jeep from another side. In the evening, we have arranged a tribal dance for you. You can sit around campfire discussing the day's event. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04: KAZIRANGA - AIRPORT TRANSFER

Morning transfer from Kaziranga to Guwahati airport in time to catch out going flight.

GUWAHATI - MANAS NATIONAL PARK - SHILLONG - KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK

Day 01: GUWAHATI - MANAS

Arrive Guwahati, meet and assist by JTi staff, transfer to Manas, 180 km, 4 hrs. Check into Bansbari Lodge, at the edge of Manas National Park.

Day 02: MANAS NATIONAL PARK

Full day at Manas National Park, doing various jungle activities. Early morning elephant ride, village visit, afternoon jeep safari. Evening tribal dance.

Day 03: MANAS - SHILLONG

Drive to Shillong, 281 km, 7 hrs. Evening at your own to relax.

Day 04: SHILLONG - CHERAPUNJEE - SHILLONG

Day visit to Cherapunjee, 65 km, 2½ km, the wettest place on earth. Visit water falls, cave. Drive back to Shillong.

Day 05: SHILLONG - CHERAPUNJEE - SHILLONG

Day visit to Cherapunjee, 65 km, 2½ km, the wettest place on earth. Visit water falls, cave. Drive back to Shillong.

Day 06: SHILLONG - KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK

Drive to Kaziranga National Park, 270 km, 7 hrs. Kaziranga is famous for one horned Asiatic rhinos.

Day 07: KAZIRANGA

Full day a Kaziranga National Park, doing various jungle activities. Early morning Elephant ride, village visit, afternoon jeep safari.

Day 08: KAZIRANGA - GUWAHATI

Drive back to Guwahati, 217 km, 5 hrs. Afternoon visit the famous 'Shakti Shrine' Kamakhya Temple.

Day 09: GUWAHATI - AIRPORT

Transfer to Guwahati airport for onward journey.

# THE WILD EAST TOUR: 16 NIGHTS / 17 DAYS

GUWAHATI - MANAS - NAMERI - KAZIRANGA - TINSUKIA - DIBRU - SAIKHOWA - NAMDAPHA - DIBRUGARH

Day 01:

Arrive at Guwahati, Meet & Assist by JTI staff, transfer to Manas National park 176 kms / 4:30 hrs. On our arrival we will check in at The Bansbari Lodge. Manas National Park, a World Heritage site declared by UNESCO in 1985 and a Project Tiger Reserve, is located at the base of foothills of the Bhutan Himalayas in the state of Assam. With a core area of over 500 squire kilometers it offers great scenic beauty as well as a vast wealth of flora and fauna.

Day 02:

Today early morning we will go for Elephant Safari for about an hour. Afterwards we will be back at the Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast we will go for a walk and visit the nearby villages. We will walk back to the Lodge again for lunch. After lunch we will enter the National Park for a Jeep Safari. We will get off the vehicles at Mathanguri on the banks of the river Manas and to enjoy the great scenic beauty and a cup of refreshing Assam Tea. Around dusk we will start driving back to our Lodge. Dinner and overnight.

Day 03:

Whole day at the park. We will go on an open jeep to Kokilabari and back to lodge. Overnight.

Day 04: MANAS - ECO CAMP (290 km / 8 hrs)

After breakfast drive to Eco Camp at Nameri National Park, near the Assam Arunachal Pradesh border. (Eco camp has comfortable double bedded tents with a thatched roof canopy). Dinner and overnight.

Day 05: ECO CAMP

After breakfast we will drive 25 kms upstream from Eco-camp and raft down the Bhorelli river. Expert boatman will accompany you. Life jackets and other essentials will be provided by us. We will arrange packet lunch, which you can enjoy while rafting down or on the banks ! Disembark at a designated point near Eco- camp. In the afternoon, trek inside Nameri National Park which is located on the other of the Bhoreli river. (NNP came into limelight when the near extinct White Winged Wood Duck was discovered here only a few years back. Other Wildlife found are deer, wild elephant, wild buffaloes and numerous species of birds). We return to our camp in the evening. Dinner and overnight.

Day 06: ECO CAMP- KAZIRANGA NATIONAL PARK (115 km / 3 hrs)

We will be driving down to Kaziranga in the morning. We shall, on the way, cross the river Brahmaputra by one of the longest river bridges in India. Check into Wild Grass Resort on arrival. (This resort is a few kms from the park and built in the colonial style near a village. It has comfortable double beded rooms with running hot and cold water. It has a small swimming pool also). In the afternoon, jeep ride inside the park. This park is well known for the one horned rhinoceros. Come back to the resort by dusk. Dinner and overnight.

Day 07: KAZIRANGA

Early morning elephant ride inside the park. Return to resort for breakfast. Mid morning visit an Assamese village to see their way of life. Return to resort for lunch. Afternoon jeep ride inside the park from another side. Come back to resort. Dinner and overnight.

Day 08: KAZIRANGA

We will visit the Panbari Reserve forest near Kaziranga to look for the only ape found in India, the Hoolock Gibbon. The area is also known for good bird sightings. Afternoon you can take another jeep safari inside the Kaziranga National Park. Overnight.

Day 09: KAZIRANGA - TINSUKIA (265 km / 6 hrs)

Transfer to Tinsukia today. Overnight at Hotel Highway.

Day 10: TINSUKIA - DIBRU - SAIKHOWA NATIONAL PARK (12 km / 30 minutes)

After breakfast drive to Guijan ghat (jetty) in the Brahmaputra River. Take a motorised boat (approx 30 minutes) to the cluster of islands in the Brahmaputra River that forms the Dibru - Saikhowa Bio Sphere Reserve and National Park. You will be accompanied by our naturalist and a local guide. This area is very good for birding - rare species like White Winged Wood Duck or the Black Breasted Parrot Bill may be sighted. It is also well known for feral horses. Return to Tinsukia and to your Hotel. Dinner & overnight.

Day 11: TINSUKIA - NAMDAPHA NATIONAL PARK ( 130 km / 4 hrs)

Drive to Deban in Namdapha. Just before reaching Deban we will stop at Miao Forest Office for local permits. Check in to Forest Rest House at Deban. Afternoon take a walk around this pristine location. Overnight.

Day 12: NAMDAPHA

Today we will trek for about 5 km to Haldibari. Pitch tents and look around for birds and other wild life. Porters, cooks and local guides will help us along the way. Dinner around campfire. Overnight in tents.

Day 13: NAMDAPHA

Break tents and trek on to Hornbill, 6 km. This is an uphill trek through thick vegetation. Pitch tents and after some rest walk around spotting birds, plants and wild life. Overnight in tents.

Day 14: NAMDAPHA

We climb some more and come across Bulbulia where we pitch our tents.

Day 15: NAMDAPHA

Today we make our return journey by trekking downhill all the way to Deban. Arrive by late afternoon. Dinner & overnight at Forest Rest House.

Day 16: NAMDAPHA - DIBRUGARH (110 km / 3 hrs)

Drive back to Dibrugarh. Overnight at Mancotta Chung Bungalow.

Day 17:

Fly out from Dibrugarh.

# ROYAL BENGAL TIGERS OF SUNDARBANS : 3 NIGHTS / 4 DAYS

KOLKATA - SUNDARBANS- KOKATA

Day 01: ARRIVE KOLKATA

Arrive Kolkata. Meet & assist at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Kolkata.

Day 02: KOLKATA - SUNDARBANS

After breakfast we will transfer you by either coach or car to Gotakhali. The drive will take approx 4 ½ hrs. Gotakhali is a busy colourful ghat. Our boat will be waiting for us to take to Sunderbans Tiger Camp. The boat ride through picturesque delta region will take two hours. On the way tea will be served. On reaching Sunderbans Tiger Camp check in to your cottage. Cottages at the Camp are simply furnished but clean. The attached bath has shower and wc. Hot water is provided. The camp itself is located in a village. Therefore one can easily walk around the village if time permits. Buffet lunch will be served. By 3 pm one can go out on a river cruise to see the park from the boat. The sunset is worth seeing and capturing in your camera. We return to lodge by late evening. Around 7 pm there will be some tribal dance around camp fire or a short film show organized by the Camp which will be followed by dinner. Overnight.

Day 03: SUNDARBANS - KOLKATA

Early morning wake-up call at 5 AM. By 6:30 am we take the boat to cruise through the creeks of Sunderbans. We cruise around a cluster of islands of this World Heritage Site and a Tiger Project Reserve. Breakfast will be served on the boat while you are cruising. Look around for deer, kingfishers, wild boar, alligators or if lucky the tiger. By lunch time we are back at the camp. After lunch we check out and depart by 2 pm. Our boat will take us back to Gotakhali where our vehicle /coach will be waiting to take us to Kolkata, approximately 4 ½ hrs drive.

On arrival at Kolkata we will transfer you to your hotel. After you freshen up, you are free to do some last minute shopping at Kolkata. Dinner will be in a local restaurant. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 04: KOLKATA- AIRPORT TRANSFER

Transfer to airport to catch your outgoing flight or join onward journey to other parts of India.
