I. TRIBES OF ORISSA

# THE TRIBAL ROUTE - ORISSA & CHATTISGARH 11 NIGHTS /12 DAYS

BHUBANESWAR - RATNAGIRI - LALITAGIRI - BHUBANESWAR - KONARK - PIPILI - CHILIKA LAKE - GOPALPUR - TAPATAPANI - RAYAGUDA - CHATIKONA - ONKADELLI - KOTAPAD - NABRAPUR - JAGDALPUR - KANKER - RAIPUR

Day 01: BHUBANESWAR

Arrive Bhubaneswar. Transfer to hotel. PM visit the unique 8th century tantric temple, the 64 yoginis, Lingaraj temple.

Day 02: BHUBANESWAR - RATNAGIRI - LALITAGIRI - BHUBANESWAR

Day trip to Ratnagiri and Lalitagiri. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Day 03: BHUBANESWAR - KONARK - PIPILI - CHILIKA LAKE - GOPALPUR

After breakfast transfer to Konark. On the way visit the textile village of Pipili. At Konark marvel at the famous Sun Temple. From here proceed to Gopalpur near Chilika Lake. Chilika is the biggest brackish water lake in Asia - famous for the migratory birds. Overnight at hotel in Gopalpur.

Day 04: GOPALPUR - TAPATAPANI - RAYAGUDA (should be a Tuesday)

AM relax in your hotel by the sea. PM drive to Rayaguda via Tapatapani, total distance of 220 km. Tapatapani is a sulphur spring located in an exotic and serene location. You can have a glimpse of tribal culture on this route. Overnight in hotel.

Day 05: RAYAGUDA - CHATIKONA - JEPPORE

After breakfast drive down to Jeypore. Along the way visit colorful market of the tribes residing at Chatokona. Overnight at Jeypore.

Day 06: JEYPORE - ONKADELLI - JEYPORE

Day trip to Onkadelli. Return to Jeypore for overnight stay.

Day 07: JEYPORE - KATAPAD - NABRAGPUR - JAGDALPUR

After breakfast proceed towards Jagdalpur in Chattisgarh. On the way visit the interesting tribal village Katapad where one can see the process of textile dyeing in their own traditional way. on arrival check in to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 08: JAGDALPUR

Morning proceed to Chitrakut enroute visiting the villages of the Maura tribe. we will also visit the weekly market. Afternoon see a beautiful waterfall and some villages. Return to Jagdalpur and visit the tribal museum. Overnight.

Day 09: JAGDALPUR

Day trip to Kailash cave in Kanger Valley with a visit to Bhadra tribal villages. Late afternoon return to Jagdalpur. Overnight.

Day 10: JAGDALPUR - KANKER

Today morning we will proceed to Narayanpur to watch the famous tribal art work of the Maria tribe. Also watch the famous woodwork in Kondagaon. Late afternoon proceed to Kanker. On arrival check in to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: KANKER - RAIPUR

Today morning we will visit the nearby Maria tribal villages at the Gadbental area. Late afternoon proceed to Raipur. Overnight at a Raipur hotel.

Day 12: RAIPUR AIRPORT

After breakfast transfer to Airport for onward journey.
