Northeast India has possibly the highest diversity of birds in the Oriental region with changing altitudes, wooded areas, rivers and water bodies. Perhaps the most rewarding birding can be touring the Eagle's Nest Sanctuary in Arunachal Pradesh, Nameri National Park in the Arunachal Pradesh- Assam border and Kaziranga National Park in central Assam.

This itinerary takes to you all the above mentioned places.

Rising from 500 m to 3500 m altitude with an area of 218 sq. km., Eagle's Nest Wildlife sanctuary hosts one of the finest birdlife assemblages that Asia has to offer. Ward's trogon, wedge-billed and rufous-throated wren-babblers, rufous-necked, great and wreathed hornbills, black-necked crane, beautiful nuthatch, emerald cuckoo are some of the most sought after birds.

Often seen as Kaziranga's cousin, Nameri houses eight globally threatened and five near-threatened species including the White-winged Wood Duck. Ibisbill, Ruddy. Kingfisher, wreathed hornbill, Blue-eared kingfisher, King Vultures are some of the other most sought after birds. The advantage of this wonderful park is that you have to do all your birdings on foot, as there are no jeepable roads.

Imran Ali: A true son of the soil, Imran was born in a village close to Kaziranga National Park. A chance encounter with an Australian bird watcher while he was aiming for a spotted dove with catapult changed his life. He was greatly impressed by the words of the birder and today he is not only an avid bird watcher himself but goes out of his way to do his bit to conserve wildlife and nature. Imran has been escorting our birding and wildlife tours for some time now and is universally appreciated for his jovial nature and for his knowledge of birds and wildlife. He is very flexible and goes out of his way to meet our guests' needs.
